Schuberts’ production-sized, fully operational Test Centre and Training Academy, located north of Sheffield, has become a key resource in the coatings industry.
Separate from our manufacturing and office locations, this established facility underscores our ongoing commitment to innovation and flexibility. It serves as a hub for testing, training, and development, reflecting our dedication to supporting the industry.
Based just two minutes from the M1 (Junction 35), it is centrally positioned to serve the whole of the UK and close to international airports. Schuberts are the only UK manufacturer of finishing systems to house and reinvest in such an array of coating equipment for tests and trials with customers and coating manufacturer.
This site is equipped with production-rated, state-of-the-art finishing technology to ensure our products are tested to the highest standards. It’s not only a laboratory, it’s a full scale production Test Centre.

Advanced COATING Solutions
and Training
The test facility at Schuberts is designed to handle a wide range of coating technologies across industries, offering production-level R&D and testing for clients.
We provide training for operators in both manual and automatic coating methods, covering guns, pumps, and maintenance. The centre includes fully automated Giardina spray machines for precise application, profile sanding machines for various materials, and a manual spray enclosure with auto-balance systems.
Advanced analytical equipment, such as WFT and gloss meters, ensures accurate colour and surface finish verification, while environmental testing facilities simulate real-world factory conditions, from temperatures to humidifiers, ensuring product durability and reliability.
