SCHUBOX INFRARED DRYING SYSTEM

A result of our vast experience in catalytic infrared technology, the Schubox® Catalytic Infrared Drying System has revolutionised the drying and curing process and is universally recognised as the most advanced and efficient system in the world, drying painted products in under an hour, costing approximately 80 percent less than its electric equivalent.

Traditional hot air systems require higher temperatures for longer periods in order to successfully achieve results. However, this affects certain substrates and can cause warping, twisting, delamination, reactivation of adhesives, and even structural weakness.

This does not happen with the gas catalytic heating process in the Schubox.

technical information

ideal for temperature sensitive substrates

The Schubox® Catalytic Infrared Drying System operates at low temperatures, typically between 35℃ and 50℃, making it ideal for processing temperature-sensitive substrates such as solid wood, veneers, plastics, and composites without compromising their structural integrity.

This gentle curing process ensures that even delicate materials maintain their quality, while still providing efficient and consistent surface coating results.

With over 500 installations worldwide, the Schubox system has proven its exceptional performance across a wide range of industries. It is designed to handle the full spectrum of wet surface coatings, offering unparalleled versatility and reliability for various production needs.

The Schubox® unique design

Designed for ease of assembly, the Schubox® Catalytic Infrared Drying System comprises insulated fire-check panels that fit together to form a box. It can be delivered, installed, and commissioned by our engineers in just four to five working days, providing that the services are connected by the customer
at the same time.

With a highly reflective stainless steel interior and ATEX compliant flameless catalytic infrared panels (where required), it can utilise a range of catalytic emitters that carry full CE and latest ATEX certification for use in hazardous locations (zone 1 and zone 2)

Each Schubox drying oven is fitted with a roof-mounted air filter to ensure clean air is drawn inside, and the options for the Schubox recirculation fan set are standard, full ATEX-rated, or EX internals, depending on the type of coating that is being used.

The Schubox is available with a choice of three different door options – sliding, hinged, and bi-fold with entry and exit via either set of double doors. It can be loaded with a trolley of wet or flashed-off products straight from the application zone and left to cure under the gas catalytic infrared.

Fully assembled carcasses, boxes, jigs, and racked panels, with virtually any wet finish, whether applied automatically or manually, can be cured. The Schubox also utilises catalytic filters in a unique Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) destruction system to oxidise the volatiles for a safe environment.

Manual, semi-automatic, and fully automatic overhead monorail or floor conveyors can be integrated into Schubox systems

end to end service

No matter your footprint, production rate, or surface coating requirements, we can design and manufacture Schubox systems to meet your specific needs.

Custom features include automatic vertical roller doors, lateral solid doors, and sliding door sets. We also offer through-feed stop/start or continuous floor conveyors, flat-bed panel conveyor tunnels, and manual, semi-automatic, or fully automatic overhead monorail conveyors.

Unique to our systems are VOC destruction active catalytic filters and flash-off pre-chambers to oxidize VOCs.

Schubox units are available in extra-wide sizes up to 5m and extra-long configurations up to 25m to accommodate any operational demand.
