powder coating tunnels

Depending on your specific requirements, Schuberts offers both gas catalytic infrared and gas recirculation systems to suit your powder coating curing needs.

Whether you opt for gas catalytic infrared or a traditional gas system, we will design and deliver a system for you, in the form of static ovens or powdered overhead conveyor tunnels.

Whether employed as a powder pre-gel oven, booster oven, or a full tunnel oven system, catalytic infrared can increase the temperature of the substrate very quickly before or after the powder application – far quicker, much more efficient, and safer than flame gas.

technical information

curing systems and pre-gel ovens

Our powder coating finishing systems, featuring both curing systems and pre-gel ovens, which both serve distinct yet complementary roles in the powder coating process.

Curing systems are designed to finalise the application of the powder coating by heating it to higher temperatures, typically between 160°C and 250°C, which allows the powder to melt, flow, and chemically bond into a durable finish. Pre-gel ovens, however,  operate at lower temperatures, usually between 80°C and 140°C, and focus on pre-heating both the substrate and the applied powder to enhance adhesion before the final curing stage.

While our powder coating finishing systems can be configured as tunnel ovens, batch ovens, or conveyor systems to accommodate various production volumes, pre-gel ovens are often shorter, dedicated sections placed before the main curing process.

Maximizing Efficiency and Cost Savings

Our gas catalytic infrared systems excel in quickly raising the substrate temperature before or after powder application. This rapid heating capability is crucial for maintaining high production speeds without compromising quality. For instance, at a line speed of 1.0m/min, a 2.0m pre-gel section utilising gas catalytic infrared achieves a ramp-up time of just 2 minutes, delivering between 80-100 kW of energy. This speed translates to improved throughput and shorter cycle times.

Not only is the performance of gas catalytic infrared heaters superior to traditional methods, but the reduction in operating cost is significant. It is up to 70% cheaper than the equivalent electric or flame gas, saving you substantial money.

Our gas catalytic pre-gel systems are installed as a complete unit in front of an existing hot air oven. However, in some cases they can be retro-fitted inside the existing oven, with no increase in overall footprint.

end to end service

We pride ourselves on delivering the design, manufacture, and installation of our advanced powder coating systems.

Our solutions are designed with flexibility in mind, allowing for configurations as static ovens or powder overhead conveyor tunnels to accommodate a wide range of applications. Whether you require a powder pre-gel oven, booster oven, or a full tunnel oven system, our experienced team tailors each solution to meet your specific production needs, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.

These systems can be installed as a complete unit in front of an existing hot air oven or retrofitted into current setups without increasing the overall space required. With our comprehensive service, we guide you through every stage, from initial design to final installation, ensuring that your system operates efficiently and effectively right from the start.
